The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Leonel Donatello made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wilian de Almeida in the 60th minute of play forced Lindner F.C's goalkeeper Gustavo Branco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Christiano Trevisan came out of the goal in the 63rd minute to try and stop a shot by Lindner F.C's Kléber Barreto. But to his dismay, Kléber Barreto quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Gustavo Branco took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leonel Donatello, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Morro Grande E.C's Christiano Trevisan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wilson Souto in the 69th minute of play. Beto Arósio kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. The supporters of Morro Grande E.C booed when Lindner F.C was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Paul Tergat didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 76th minute, Wilian de Almeida ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gustavo Branco was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. After 82 played minutes Lindner F.C got a freekick which was hit by Paul Tergat. 86 minutes into the game, Leonel Donatello was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Morro Grande E.C's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Lindner F.C the free kick. In the 88th minute Wilson Souto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Christiano Trevisan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 90th minute of the match Ronaldo Lima sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Gustavo Branco skillfully saved the ball. Lindner F.C's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
