When Gildo Fantini came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the Grêmio FBPA fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gildo Fantini couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Villa Verde FC's Wilson Teles got a free kick in the 14th minute. Mac Dez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Valdir de Alcântara in the 21st minute of play. In the 21stth minute of the game Valdir de Alcântara who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Villa Verde FC's Mac Dez was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 25th minute, Afonso Baiano got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Mac Dez stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Valdir de Alcântara's shot from short distance in the 31st minute. Mac Dez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Valdir de Alcântara, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. In the 43rd minute Valdir de Alcântara shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mac Dez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Valdir de Alcântara could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 96th minute of the match, but Mac Dez made a huge save.
