Despite this Rui Varela quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After 14 minutes of play, ALMA GUERREIRA's Oscar Terra made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. With a little luck, ALMA GUERREIRA's Vânderson Severo got control of the ball when Valdir de Alcântara tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ernesto Damião in the 48th minute of play forced Grêmio FBPA's goalkeeper Rui Varela to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Valdir de Alcântara stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 62nd minute of the match, Oséas Negri got a very nice opportunity to score, but Rui Varela was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Oscar Terra hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. When Wilian Alves came up free with the goalie in the 86th minute, the Grêmio FBPA fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Wilian Alves couldn't finish the play. 91 minutes into the game, Filipe Neto was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Grêmio FBPA's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave ALMA GUERREIRA the free kick. Filipe Neto hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match.
