Spectators: 151 (Terracing: 114, Seating: 34, VIP seats: 3) Corinthians's Romeu Souto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Betão Sena in the 3rd minute of play. Romeu Souto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eusébio Senna, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 7 minutes into the game, Almir Furlan was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Corinthians's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Brasília FC the free kick. Almir Furlan hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Fernandinho Urbano in the 9th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Adhemar Corrêa prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When the match clock showed 11 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Fernandinho Urbano sped through Brasília FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Adhemar Corrêa. After having played for 14 minutes, Fernandinho Urbano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Corinthians's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fernandinho Urbano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 15th minute the ball was on its way in behind Corinthians's goalkeeper Romeu Souto, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Elano Simões took the ball and in the 19 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Adhemar Corrêa. Adhemar Corrêa dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. The audience was convinced that Fernandinho Urbano's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Adhemar Corrêa was relentless in the 23rd minute of the game. A collision led to Brasília FC getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Ricardo Zonta hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Brasília FC's zone, Fernandinho Urbano stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Adhemar Corrêa came out of the goal and Fernandinho Urbano tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 26 minutes into the match, Brasília FC's goal looked a bit too open when Almir Furlan came free, but Adhemar Corrêa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Adhemar Corrêa stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Fernandinho Urbano's shot from short distance in the 28th minute. Fernandinho Urbano struck a weak shot in the 43rd minute. Adhemar Corrêa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Corinthians. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Betão Sena to make the kick off. In the 50th minute, Reginaldo Soeiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Fernandinho Urbano was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 54th minute. Corinthians's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Fernandinho Urbano blasted a shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Adhemar Corrêa having to make a save. Adhemar Corrêa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fernandinho Urbano, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. If Ricardo Zonta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Brasília FC's zone, Fernandinho Urbano stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Adhemar Corrêa came out of the goal and Fernandinho Urbano tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Fernandinho Urbano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adhemar Corrêa having to interfere. The supporters of Brasília FC booed when Corinthians was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edmílson Matorin didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eusébio Senna in the 74th minute of play forced Corinthians's goalkeeper Romeu Souto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With his leg Adhemar Corrêa managed to avoid a goal in the 76thth minute, when Corinthians's Fernandinho Urbano fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The crowd rose to their feet as Fernandinho Urbano kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Adhemar Corrêa. That made the score 0-4 in the 83 minute of play. In the 89th match minute, Brasília FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Narciso Passos to maneuver through the defense. Fernandinho Urbano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Adhemar Corrêa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Corinthians played a much better game than Brasília FC and deserved their victory. The Brasília FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
