Marquinhos Schmidt made in the 36th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Jairo Tinoco. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Almir Furlan in the 93rd minute of play forced Vasco FC's goalkeeper Wellington Barbosa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
