The audience was convinced that César Cardozo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dorian Machado was relentless in the 15th minute of the game. Locomotiva grena were awarded a corner in the 19th minute after CA Metropolitano - FSCMZ's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Hílton Fernandez took the corner. After taking down the ball on Locomotiva grena's corner Osvaldo Soares fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Luiz Mello quite easily take care of the ball. Hílton Fernandez who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 22ndth minute tested the skills of Luiz Mello when he managed to save the team from getting behind. CA Metropolitano - FSCMZ's Luiz Mello played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hílton Fernandez in the 23rd minute of play. Dorian Machado showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marcel Queirós in the 28th minute of the match. After 32 minutes of play, Locomotiva grena's Hílton Fernandez made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Arlindo Barral fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luiz Mello having to interfere. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Hílton Fernandez made the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the game, Locomotiva grena's Hílton Fernandez nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Luiz Mello made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. With a little luck, Locomotiva grena's Dorian Machado got control of the ball when César Cardozo tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a rather tough play, CA Metropolitano - FSCMZ's Júnior Tinoco got a free kick in the 60th minute. CA Metropolitano - FSCMZ's Toninho Alagoano was substituted for Eduardo Duarte. Locomotiva grena's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
