But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Flavio Maciel couldn't finish the play. 9 minutes into the match, THE FLALIRA FAMILY MZ's goal looked a bit too open when Sydney Carioca came free, but Paulinho Viana reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sydney Carioca in the 11th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Paulinho Viana prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Paulinho Viana showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sydney Carioca, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. 14 minutes into the match, THE FLALIRA FAMILY MZ's goal looked a bit too open when Walmyr Lira came free, but Paulinho Viana reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 21st minute, Hugo Gerber hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 24 played minutes THE FLALIRA FAMILY MZ got a freekick which was hit by Flavio Maciel. The Barrenta SC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. In the 33rd minute Walmyr Lira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paulinho Viana saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match had gone on for 33 minutes, Sydney Carioca put it in 0-4 from a short distance just to the right of Paulinho Viana. In the 38th minute, Sydney Carioca made a precise shot to the right of Paulinho Viana. THE FLALIRA FAMILY MZ's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-5. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hugo Gerber in the 42nd minute of play forced THE FLALIRA FAMILY MZ's goalkeeper Paulinho Viana to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Edgar Trigo made a fantastic save in the 45th minute, when Flavio Maciel sent off a good shot on target. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-6 lead.

The wind increased when Sydney Carioca made the kick off in the second half. After 57 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Barrenta SC! After 60 played minutes THE FLALIRA FAMILY MZ got a freekick which was hit by Armando Pena. In the 64th minute of the match Barrenta SC got a corner. THE FLALIRA FAMILY MZ's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Hugo Gerber ran over to the corner to take the kick. Joel Sabóia kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. In the 68thth minute of the game Sydney Carioca who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but THE FLALIRA FAMILY MZ's Paulinho Viana was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The supporters of Barrenta SC booed when THE FLALIRA FAMILY MZ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Armando Pena didn't get a good kick on the ball. Barrenta SC made a substitution. Luiz Fábio Lima replaced Thomás Braga. After a rather tough play, THE FLALIRA FAMILY MZ's Armando Pena got a free kick in the 71st minute. Paulinho Viana took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sydney Carioca, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Paulinho Viana showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sydney Carioca in the 79th minute of the match. With an all-out effort, Barrenta SC's Paulinho Viana threw himself towards the right post 81 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Sydney Carioca, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Paulinho Viana made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sydney Carioca in the 83rd minute. Paulinho Viana was a little too slow when Luiz Fábio Lima got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 95th minute. The score was now 1-8. Barrenta SC played a much better game than THE FLALIRA FAMILY MZ and deserved their victory. The THE FLALIRA FAMILY MZ players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
