The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 30 minutes, Bruninho Mandrak mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Trindade Atlético Club and the America Futebol Clube SP players grew even worse after the yellow card. Cristóvão Veloso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Cristóvão Veloso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fausto de Souza was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 38th minute. America Futebol Clube SP's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Trindade Atlético Club made a substitution. Carlos Veiga replaced Kiko Cearense. The supporters of Trindade Atlético Club booed when America Futebol Clube SP was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nicolas Souza didn't get a good kick on the ball. Edmílson Britto was a little too slow when Fausto de Souza got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 44th minute. The score was now 2-0. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Cristiano Mota made a kick off. Germano do Vale was extremely unlucky when he, in the 61st minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Cristiano Mota did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 2-1 to the left of a surprised Gonçalo de Amorim 62 minutes into the match. Fausto de Souza blasted a shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Edmílson Britto having to make a save. In the 66th match minute, Trindade Atlético Club was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rafa Borre to maneuver through the defense. Edmílson Britto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fausto de Souza, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. In the 81st minute Cristóvão Veloso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edmílson Britto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
