If Gugu Travassos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Xapetuba Futebol Clube's Tiaguinho da Cunha got control of the ball when Gugu Travassos tried to sneak it across the goal line. Gugu Travassos could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 8th minute of the match, but Tiaguinho da Cunha made a huge save. 11 minutes into the match, Granadero10's goal looked a bit too open when Patrick Neiva came free, but Sydney Barros reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Inácio Barbosa got free with Tiaguinho da Cunha in the 14th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 14th minute Inácio Barbosa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tiaguinho da Cunha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tiaguinho da Cunha showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Willian Neves in the 23rd minute of the match. Sydney Barros showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jacinto Paraíba, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. Sydney Barros took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Patrick Neiva, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Willian Neves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 37 minutes into the match, Xapetuba Futebol Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Gugu Travassos came free, but Tiaguinho da Cunha reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Vivaldo Paes might have been able to make a better finish in the 39th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sydney Barros. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Vivaldo Paes ran back to his position shaking his head. Claudinho Duarte hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. Tiaguinho da Cunha was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 41st minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Hermínio Ferreira. Jacinto Paraíba's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Sydney Barros read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 42nd minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Gugu Travassos made the kick off in the second half. Inácio Barbosa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tiaguinho da Cunha read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 51st minute of play. In the 57th minute Vivaldo Paes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sydney Barros saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Sandrinho Leite had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tiaguinho da Cunha stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gugu Travassos's shot from short distance in the 80th minute. Tiaguinho da Cunha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sandrinho Leite in the 81st minute of play. 85 minutes into the match, Xapetuba Futebol Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Jairo Vinhas came free, but Tiaguinho da Cunha reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Granadero10's Severino Mendes was substituted for Gugu Travassos. Granadero10's Hermínio Ferreira was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Tiaguinho da Cunha in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Xapetuba Futebol Clube's Tiaguinho da Cunha played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Inácio Barbosa in the 90th minute of play. In the 92nd minute Xapetuba Futebol Clube were awarded a corner. Amauri de Lima went to the cornerflag to take it. Tiaguinho da Cunha took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Severino Mendes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
