A collision led to Gurjao getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Leandro Mota hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers César Medeiros in the 10th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg David Pitta saved Gurjao from getting behind. If Ronaldo Félix had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Joinville City - FSCMZ booed when Gurjao was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cristóvão Secco didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 19th minute, Roberto-Carlos Joinvilense got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. But to his dismay, Ronaldo Félix quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. 34 minutes into the match, Gurjao's goal looked a bit too open when César Medeiros came free, but David Pitta reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ronaldo Félix fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without David Pitta having to interfere. When the match clock showed 37 minutes, the score became 1-3 when Ronaldo Félix sped through Gurjao's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of David Pitta. David Pitta showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ronaldo Félix, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. 44 minutes into the game, Joinville City - FSCMZ's César Medeiros nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. David Pitta made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-4. David Pitta made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Neymar Joinvilense in the 47th minute of play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-4 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Neymar Joinvilense stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Neymar Joinvilense got free with David Pitta in the 52nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 72 minutes into the match, Gurjao's goal looked a bit too open when Neymar Joinvilense came free, but David Pitta reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 74 minutes into the game, Antônio Carlos Marinho was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Gurjao's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Joinville City - FSCMZ the free kick.
