The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ladislao Petri in the 15th minute of play forced JFSP's goalkeeper Moisés Novaes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 19th minute Adalberto Cruz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Denílson Munhoz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in JFSP's zone, Ladislao Petri stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Moisés Novaes came out of the goal and Ladislao Petri tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Denílson Munhoz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edinson Gentenaar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Denílson Munhoz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adalberto Cruz in the 44th minute of the match. Moisés Novaes stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ladislao Petri's shot from short distance in the 48th minute. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

After 89 minutes, Maurício Pires mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the JFSP and the P3DR4 N0 S4P4T0 F.C players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 89 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for JFSP!
