The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Carlos Alberto Leal in the 7th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nilmar de Amorim saved Shark FC - FSCMZ from getting behind. Paulo Renato Dracena made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fernandinho Diniz in the 9th minute of play. In the 13th minute the ball was on its way in behind Shark FC - FSCMZ's goalkeeper Nilmar de Amorim, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Paulo Renato Dracena showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dedé Pimenta in the 17th minute of the match. Paulo Renato Dracena made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Márcio Garcia in the 18th minute of play. A collision led to Shark FC - FSCMZ getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Tomé Catarinense hit a great ball. Shark FC - FSCMZ's Nilmar de Amorim played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ferenc Szántó in the 20th minute of play. After having played for 23 minutes, Cristian Vinhas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Belo Academy's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cristian Vinhas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the match had gone on for 25 minutes, Carlos Alberto Leal put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Nilmar de Amorim. After some careless play in the Belo Academy defense, Luiz Fernando Zonta kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Paulo Renato Dracena. The Belo Academy fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Paulo Renato Dracena should have stopped the shot. The Belo Academy fans' excitement grew in the 36th match minute when Belo Academy's Carlos Alberto Leal looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. If Cristian Vinhas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 40th minute, Cristian Vinhas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Fernandinho Diniz hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. 47 minutes into the match, Belo Academy's goal looked a bit too open when Márcio Garcia came free, but Paulo Renato Dracena reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Carlos Alberto Leal stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Carlos Alberto Leal took the ball and in the 83 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Nilmar de Amorim. Nilmar de Amorim dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 6-1. Carlos Alberto Leal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 89th match minute, Shark FC - FSCMZ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tomé Catarinense to maneuver through the defense. Waldemar Vergílio hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. Cristian Vinhas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Many of Shark FC - FSCMZ's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Shark FC - FSCMZ may have spent more time on the ball, but Belo Academy were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
