Botafogo AP's Percy Reis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nelsinho Dantas in the 37th minute of play. In a very dangerous position, a player in Botafogo AP fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 37th minute. Penalty! The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Serafim Motta during the 42nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. C. players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 56 played minutes Botafogo AP got a freekick which was hit by Humberto Maia. Percy Reis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Reinaldo Penha, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. 58 minutes into the game, Mexilhão F. C.'s Reinaldo Penha nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Percy Reis made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. Adalberto Proença replaced Clóvis das Neves. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Felippe Mineiro in the 87th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Percy Reis prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 88th minute Mexilhão F. C. were awarded a corner. Reinaldo Penha went to the cornerflag to take it. If Reinaldo Penha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
