In the 3rd minute, Valdomiro Duarte ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gil de Medeiros was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. 6 minutes into the match, Nautilus's goal looked a bit too open when Valdomiro Duarte came free, but Gil de Medeiros reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 8 minutes into the game, Valdomiro Duarte cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Gil de Medeiros was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a defensive mix-up in Nautilus's zone, Valdomiro Duarte stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gil de Medeiros came out of the goal and Valdomiro Duarte tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. João de Castro hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. A collision led to Várzea F.C. getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Vivaldo Bueno hit a great ball. The supporters of Nautilus booed when Várzea F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vivaldo Bueno didn't get a good kick on the ball. Romeu Batista made a fantastic save in the 16th minute, when Richard Ferreira sent off a good shot on target. 19 minutes into the game, Valdomiro Duarte cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Gil de Medeiros was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Gil de Medeiros showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alessandro Mandrak in the 22nd minute of the match. A collision led to Nautilus getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Tarcisio Favoretto hit a great ball. After some careless play in the Nautilus defense, Valdomiro Duarte kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gil de Medeiros. The Nautilus fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gil de Medeiros should have stopped the shot. In the 29th match minute, Várzea F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alessandro Mandrak to maneuver through the defense. Alessandro Mandrak fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gil de Medeiros having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Várzea F.C.'s Gustavo Porto got a free kick in the 36th minute. Várzea F.C.'s Romeu Batista played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Richard Ferreira in the 39th minute of play. If Valdomiro Duarte had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Dorian Meireles fell near the penalty area in the 44th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Nautilus's protests and gave Dorian Meireles a yellow card for diving instead. In the 44th minute, Dorian Meireles hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Alessandro Mandrak might have been able to make a better finish in the 46th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gil de Medeiros. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Alessandro Mandrak ran back to his position shaking his head.

The wind increased when Alessandro Mandrak made the kick off in the second half. When Leonardo Furtado fell near the penalty area in the 54th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Nautilus's protests and gave Leonardo Furtado a yellow card for diving instead. After 54 played minutes Nautilus got a freekick which was hit by Leonardo Furtado. Aníbal Paes's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gil de Medeiros read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 55th minute of play. Alessandro Mandrak came free with the goalkeeper in the 64th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Gil de Medeiros could save by the left post. In the 66th minute, Valdomiro Duarte left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Várzea F.C. fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-7. Gil de Medeiros made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alessandro Mandrak in the 69th minute. After 73 minutes of play, Várzea F.C.'s Alessandro Mandrak made it 0-9 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Gil de Medeiros was left in no man's land by his defense there! João de Castro kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. After recieving a nice pass, Várzea F.C.'s Aníbal Paes tried to score from far away in the 77th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. With his leg Gil de Medeiros managed to avoid a goal in the 78thth minute, when Várzea F.C.'s Alessandro Mandrak fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Valdomiro Duarte might have been able to make a better finish in the 80th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gil de Medeiros. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Valdomiro Duarte ran back to his position shaking his head. Gil de Medeiros showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Valdomiro Duarte in the 80th minute of the match. In the 80th match minute, Várzea F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Celso Secco to maneuver through the defense. Alessandro Mandrak could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 84th minute of the match, but Gil de Medeiros made a huge save. Gil de Medeiros took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Valdomiro Duarte, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A hard shot 89 in the game by Valdomiro Duarte from a close distance when the talented Gil de Medeiros managed to make a qualified save. Nautilus's players were relieved. Alessandro Mandrak fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gil de Medeiros having to interfere. In the 92nd minute, Vivaldo Bueno hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With his leg Gil de Medeiros managed to avoid a goal in the 95thth minute, when Várzea F.C.'s Alessandro Mandrak fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. If Dudu Neiva had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Várzea F.C. players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
