Marcel Abreu started the match with the kick off. After 4 minutes of play, DJVAGALUMY FC.'s Thiago Vidal made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Miguel Ángel Ortiz was left in no man's land by his defense there! Robinho Amorim showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marcel Abreu in the 16th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Joélson Paraibano got free with Robinho Amorim in the 20th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Leopoldo Sanches came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the S.E.R. Caxias do Sul fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Leopoldo Sanches couldn't finish the play. Miguel Ángel Ortiz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Paulinho Zanette, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Caio Rosa's late challenge caught a DJVAGALUMY FC.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. After 33 played minutes DJVAGALUMY FC. got a freekick which was hit by Deivid de Alcântara. After a rather tough play, S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's Joélson Paraibano got a free kick in the 34th minute. A hard shot 36 in the game by Marcel Abreu from a close distance when the talented Robinho Amorim managed to make a qualified save. DJVAGALUMY FC.'s players were relieved. A collision led to DJVAGALUMY FC. getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Eriberto Borges hit a great ball.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Thiago Vidal stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The supporters of S.E.R. Caxias do Sul booed when DJVAGALUMY FC. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pedro Veiga didn't get a good kick on the ball. DJVAGALUMY FC.'s attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Paulinho Zanette in the 58th minute. João Batista took the ball and in the 79 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Robinho Amorim. Robinho Amorim dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. When the referee blew the final whistle, S.E.R. Caxias do Sul could leave the field as winners, despite DJVAGALUMY FC. having more of the ball for most of the match.
