Leonel Leão charged in rather forcefully in the 10th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Vito Furlan was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 20th minute Thiago Motta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vito Furlan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Magno Maranhense was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 22 minutes into the match. MAZER SAF:s Adriano Carneiro showed great skill when he stopped Chico de Azevedo:s penalty. With an all-out effort, MAZER SAF's Vito Furlan threw himself towards the right post 25 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Dudu Berger, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Adriano Carneiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carlos Fernando Moreno, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. PEÇONHENTO FC MG's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Chico de Azevedo in the 29th minute. Laurgain Ruiz took the ball and in the 33 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Vito Furlan. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Vivaldo Pitta made the kick off in the second half. Chico de Azevedo came free with the goalkeeper in the 52nd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Adriano Carneiro could save by the left post. PEÇONHENTO FC MG's Vito Furlan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dudu Berger in the 60th minute of play. 63 minutes into the game, Dudu Berger cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-0. Vito Furlan was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Dudu Berger got in the 73rd a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Vito Furlan handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. In the 74th match minute, PEÇONHENTO FC MG was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bruno da Costa to maneuver through the defense. Thiago Motta might have been able to make a better finish in the 75th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Vito Furlan. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Thiago Motta ran back to his position shaking his head.
