Spectators: 160 (Terracing: 120, Seating: 37, VIP seats: 3) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Dudu Borges kicked off to start the match. After some careless play in the Catugi FC defense, José Carlos Simões kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Folke Österlund. The Catugi FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Folke Österlund should have stopped the shot. Folke Österlund was a little too slow when Elano Soares got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 8th minute. The score was now 2-0. Folke Österlund showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Elano Soares, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. Folke Österlund showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Elano Soares in the 16th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dudu Borges in the 18th minute of play forced Palmeiras's goalkeeper Carlos Augusto Recife to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. José Carlos Simões kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. Carlos Augusto Recife showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dudu Borges in the 20th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Palmeiras's zone, Dudu Borges stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Carlos Augusto Recife came out of the goal and Dudu Borges tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Palmeiras booed when Catugi FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leonel Varela didn't get a good kick on the ball. Folke Österlund made a fantastic save in the 32nd minute, when Elano Soares sent off a good shot on target. In the 40th minute, Luiz Fernando Abraão got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

The wind increased when Edgard Bastos made the kick off in the second half. In the 52ndth minute of the game Elano Soares who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Catugi FC's Folke Österlund was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Palmeiras's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Edgard Bastos in the 55th minute. A nice corner shot did that Edgard Bastos got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Folke Österlund quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 57 minutes into the match, Elano Soares notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of Catugi FC's Folke Österlund. Folke Österlund was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 63 minutes into the game, Michel Sergipano was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Palmeiras's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Catugi FC the free kick. After a rather tough play, Palmeiras's Michel Sergipano got a free kick in the 63rd minute. Tiaguinho Fernandez missed a clear chance of a goal when in the 64 minute of the game fired away a shot, but unfortunally the ball went out to the Carlos Augusto Recife right hand side. Reginaldo Veiga hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. Through an outstanding action, after 75 minutes, Carlos Augusto Recife successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. The supporters of Catugi FC booed when Palmeiras was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Elano Soares didn't get a good kick on the ball. Carlos Augusto Recife was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 77th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Hernani Travassos. After 83 played minutes Palmeiras got a freekick which was hit by José Carlos Simões. In the 84th minute of the match Tiaguinho Fernandez sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Carlos Augusto Recife skillfully saved the ball. Folke Österlund made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Perivaldo Furlan in the 87th minute of play. Carlos Augusto Recife showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dudu Borges in the 91st minute of the match. With 96 minutes on the clock, Vicente Neiva commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In the 96th match minute, Catugi FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vicente Neiva to maneuver through the defense. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Palmeiras fans cheered their team off the field, for while Catugi FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
