The Atlético Matorrales fans' excitement grew in the 21st match minute when Atlético Matorrales's Zeledon Bermund looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. If Laureano Bingen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Igor Gipuzkoa made a fantastic save in the 34th minute, when Laureano Bingen sent off a good shot on target. After having played for 42 minutes, Laureano Bingen managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Churrascos FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Laureano Bingen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some careless play in the Atlético Matorrales defense, Laureano Bingen kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Igor Gipuzkoa. The Atlético Matorrales fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Igor Gipuzkoa should have stopped the shot.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Zeledon Bermund to make the kick off. Igor Gipuzkoa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ezequiel Basajaun in the 53rd minute of the match. Atlético Matorrales's Igor Gipuzkoa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Laureano Bingen in the 56th minute of play.
