Esteve Naelio's late challenge caught a Fcion C.A.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Esteve Naelio helped the player get up and apologised. Esteve Naelio kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. If Ignacio Guillelme had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 19th minute of the game. One of Fcion C.A.:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Gaviotas FC:s goal. Judas Zarate made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ildefonso Ortle in the 25th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Ildefonso Ortle's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Judas Zarate was relentless in the 25th minute of the game. 26 minutes into the game, Fcion C.A.'s Celestino Sarracino nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gavino Luke made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. When Judas Verón fell near the penalty area in the 31st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Fcion C.A.'s protests and gave Judas Verón a yellow card for diving instead. In the 32nd minute, Judas Verón hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Judas Zarate showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ildefonso Ortle in the 32nd minute of the match. Amancio Duarte might have been able to make a better finish in the 35th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gavino Luke. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Amancio Duarte ran back to his position shaking his head. The supporters of Gaviotas FC booed when Fcion C.A. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Amancio Duarte didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 38th minute Baldomiro Oliverios shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Judas Zarate saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Amancio Duarte managed to get in a good position for a shot. Fcion C.A.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Amancio Duarte was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gavino Luke breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Celestino Sarracino to strike the kick off in the second half. Benicio Fix hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. Gavino Luke showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Celestino Sarracino, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. Gavino Luke took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Celestino Sarracino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Celestino Sarracino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After having played for 65 minutes, Celestino Sarracino managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Fcion C.A.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Celestino Sarracino was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gaviotas FC's Mariano Stephen was substituted for Isidro Vimaro. Gaviotas FC's Anastasio Arce was substituted for Sebastian Gimenez. Damian Rufo kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. Celestino Sarracino's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gavino Luke read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 75th minute of play. After 80 played minutes Gaviotas FC got a freekick which was hit by Casimiro Lopez. After a defensive mix-up in Gaviotas FC's zone, Celestino Sarracino stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gavino Luke came out of the goal and Celestino Sarracino tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Celestino Sarracino in the 89th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gavino Luke saved Gaviotas FC from getting behind. When Celestino Sarracino came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the Fcion C.A. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Celestino Sarracino couldn't finish the play. After 96 played minutes Fcion C.A. got a freekick which was hit by Ignacio Guillelme. Despite being the better team, Fcion C.A. failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
