After 6 minutes, Dario Brion mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Pretorianos FC and the Adrogue FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 5th minute, one of Pretorianos FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Pretorianos FC. The referee gave Adrogue FC a penalty, 6 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Isidoro Celino, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Pretorianos FC's Baldomiro Elequemedo. 0-1. With an all-out effort, Pretorianos FC's Marcelo Barovero threw himself towards the right post 18 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Gavino Dalmai, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Gavino Dalmai took the ball and in the 19 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Marcelo Barovero. Marcelo Barovero dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. After 24 played minutes Pretorianos FC got a freekick which was hit by Norberto Sedeni. The supporters of Adrogue FC booed when Pretorianos FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adolfo Toribio didn't get a good kick on the ball. Adrogue FC's Marcelo Barovero proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 38th minute of the match, managed to save Adrogue FC from getting a goal against them. In the 39th minute, Isidoro Celino got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Adrogue FC's Emilio Fertus got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Eugenio Loren came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the Adrogue FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eugenio Loren couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 46th minute, Gavino Dalmai managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pretorianos FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Gavino Dalmai was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marcelo Barovero breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Arnaldo Tome to strike the kick off in the second half. If Emilio Fertus had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Baldomiro Elequemedo made a fantastic save in the 66th minute, when Eugenio Loren sent off a good shot on target. Emilio Fertus received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Baldomiro Elequemedo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 70 played minutes Adrogue FC got a freekick which was hit by Basilio Sarracino. The audience was convinced that Gavino Dalmai's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Marcelo Barovero was relentless in the 72nd minute of the game. In the 73rd minute Pretorianos FC were awarded a corner. Gavino Dalmai went to the cornerflag to take it. Marcelo Barovero made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gavino Dalmai in the 75th minute of play. A collision led to Adrogue FC getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 92 minutes into the match, Pretorianos FC's goalkeeper Baldomiro Elequemedo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Emilio Fertus. Basilio Sarracino kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match. Despite being the better team, Adrogue FC failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
