Arturo Baladi could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 9th minute of the match, but Isidro Gregory made a huge save. Arturo Baladi took the ball and in the 13 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Isidro Gregory. Isidro Gregory dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. After 16 minutes of play, Grütly's Abel Polo made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Roy Peto was left in no man's land by his defense there! Arturo Baladi hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. 44 minutes in the game, Jairo Theodore fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Isidro Gregory having to interfere. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Arturo Baladi to strike the kick off in the second half. Roy Peto made a fantastic save in the 53rd minute, when Evaristo Guillem sent off a good shot on target. Feliberto Batista might have been able to make a better finish in the 55th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Roy Peto. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. With 84 minutes on the clock, Marcelino Eguerdi commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 83rd minute of the game. One of Grütly:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of El retorno del Pincha:s goal. In the 85th minute there was a penalty for El retorno del Pincha. Ermegildo Tavio stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Isidro Gregory. 2-4. Feliberto Batista struck a weak shot in the 91st minute. Roy Peto didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Grütly. In the 93rd minute Arturo Baladi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Isidro Gregory saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Grütly's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
