When Juan Riquelme came up free with the goalie in the 4th minute, the Manantiales Fc fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Juan Riquelme couldn't finish the play. If Filomeno Aurken had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 19 minutes into the match, Q. T. I.'s goalkeeper Paulo Txatxu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jonathan Reno. The supporters of Q. T. I. booed when Manantiales Fc was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Juan Riquelme didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rodolfo Mantzio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nestor Chap, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nestor Chap in the 23rd minute of play forced Manantiales Fc's goalkeeper Rodolfo Mantzio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rodolfo Mantzio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Filomeno Aurken in the 24th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nestor Chap in the 42nd minute of play forced Manantiales Fc's goalkeeper Rodolfo Mantzio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 44 played minutes Manantiales Fc got a freekick which was hit by Americo Berbiz. Rodolfo Mantzio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nestor Chap in the 46th minute of the match.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Juan Riquelme made a kick off. When Q. T. Jonathan Reno sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Q. T. I.'s Domingos Giraldo was substituted for Lisandro Lucila. In the 78th match minute, Manantiales Fc was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Guillermo Edwardo to maneuver through the defense. Q. T. I.'s Hilario Gorri got a good chance for a goal in the 78th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 85th minute Filomeno Aurken shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rodolfo Mantzio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Q. T. I.'s Pablo Perutxo got a free kick in the 92nd minute. The Q. T. I. supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Q. T. I. would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
