After a rather tough play, Real Guayaquil.F.C.'s Urrutia Iruretagoyena got a free kick in the 13th minute. 17 minutes into the match, Real Guayaquil.F.C.'s goalkeeper Patryk Basaik had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Norbert Garland. After 20 minutes Real Guayaquil.F.C.'s defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Micheal Burnham who took care of the corner kick. Erwin Salcines helped the player get up and apologised. In the 35th minute, Cyril Cantrell hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 41st minute Berry Giles shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Patryk Basaik saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Patryk Basaik took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Norbert Garland, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Patryk Basaik made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Orval Crow in the 46th minute of play. Orval Crow sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

After 76 played minutes Real Guayaquil.F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Jessie Rosario. The audience was convinced that Norbert Garland's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Patryk Basaik was relentless in the 79th minute of the game. Tomas Donovan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Urrutia Iruretagoyena, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Norbert Garland in the 96th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Patryk Basaik prevented the ball from getting in the gole.
