Johnathon Gallo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Johnathon Gallo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eduardo Mascareñas in the 26th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Eduardo Mascareñas during the 31st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 32 minutes, Cliff Schulz mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Mankato and the Liga de Quito players grew even worse after the yellow card. Eduardo Mascareñas took the ball and in the 36 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Johnathon Gallo. Johnathon Gallo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. 39 minutes into the match, Nestor Ibaute notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of Mankato's Johnathon Gallo. Johnathon Gallo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Monty McBride in the 46th minute of play forced Liga de Quito's goalkeeper Tomas Pando to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 47 minutes into the match, Mankato's goal looked a bit too open when Delgado Larrinoa came free, but Johnathon Gallo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Norman Bergman to make the kick off. After having played for 53 minutes, Nestor Ibaute managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Liga de Quito's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nestor Ibaute was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Cruz Guia could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 60th minute of the match, but Johnathon Gallo made a huge save. In the 61st match minute, Mankato was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Neil Chavez to maneuver through the defense. Mankato's Johnathon Gallo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eduardo Mascareñas in the 62nd minute of play. In the 65th minute Valdo Aroztegui shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Johnathon Gallo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mankato's Johnathon Gallo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Delgado Larrinoa in the 66th minute of play. Johnathon Gallo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nestor Ibaute, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. Valdo Aroztegui took the ball and in the 72 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Johnathon Gallo. Johnathon Gallo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-4. The crowd rose to their feet as Liga de Quito's Eduardo Mascareñas slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Johnathon Gallo. That made the score 0-6 after 81 minutes of play. A hard shot 84 in the game by Nestor Ibaute from a close distance when the talented Johnathon Gallo managed to make a qualified save. Mankato's players were relieved. In the 87th minute, Urbano Pacio ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Johnathon Gallo was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-7. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eduardo Mascareñas in the 90th minute of play forced Mankato's goalkeeper Johnathon Gallo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cruz Guia's late challenge caught a Mankato's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cruz Guia helped the player get up and apologised. Cruz Guia hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. Tomas Pando stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Norman Bergman's shot from short distance in the 93rd minute. The supporters of Mankato booed when Liga de Quito was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cruz Guia didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee felt a red card was in order, 96 minutes into the game, when Mateo Cancel put in a rough tackle. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 96th minute of the game. One of Liga de Quito:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Mankato:s goal. Dexter Jeffers placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! Tomas Pando took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Norman Bergman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
