When the match had gone on for 3 minutes, Mati Fernández put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Cordarrol Vallejoller. In the 5th minute, Koča Mendoza hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Emiliano Marcó showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Martín Ulloa in the 8th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Martín Ulloa in the 8th minute of play forced Colo-Colo's goalkeeper Emiliano Marcó to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 9 minutes into the match, Colo-Colo's goal looked a bit too open when Francesco Benavides came free, but Emiliano Marcó reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 13 minutes into the match, ►Las Mercedes F.C◄'s goalkeeper Cordarrol Vallejoller had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Toninho Bibikov. Cordarrol Vallejoller made a fantastic save in the 17th minute, when Mati Fernández sent off a good shot on target. In the 18th match minute, ►Las Mercedes F.C◄ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Guillermo Escalona to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mati Fernández got free with Cordarrol Vallejoller in the 21st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Guillermo Escalona fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Emiliano Marcó having to interfere. When Toninho Bibikov came up free with the goalie in the 28th minute, the Colo-Colo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Toninho Bibikov couldn't finish the play. Mati Fernández could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 30th minute of the match, but Cordarrol Vallejoller made a huge save. Colo-Colo's Emiliano Marcó played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Martín Ulloa in the 35th minute of play. Chano Garrido charged in rather forcefully in the 48th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Chano Garrido the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Francesco Benavides to make the kick off. Luis Mena hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. In the 59th minute Giancarlo Mora shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emiliano Marcó saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Toninho Bibikov recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 61st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Cordarrol Vallejoller showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Manolito Neira in the 64th minute of the match. In the 65th minute Toninho Bibikov shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cordarrol Vallejoller saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 71 played minutes Colo-Colo got a freekick which was hit by Oscar Opazo. Colo-Colo made a substitution. Bermejo Pretot replaced Marcos Francisco Aguayo. A collision led to Colo-Colo getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Oscar Opazo hit a great ball. Colo-Colo's Emiliano Marcó proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 73rd minute of the match, managed to save Colo-Colo from getting a goal against them. 76 minutes into the game, Martín Ulloa recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Emiliano Marcó. Cordarrol Vallejoller showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Manolito Neira, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. Emiliano Marcó made an important save on a dangerous shot by Giancarlo Mora in the 86th minute. After 88 played minutes ►Las Mercedes F.C◄ got a freekick which was hit by Miguel Pimentel. In the 90th minute, Toninho Bibikov sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and ►Las Mercedes F.C◄'s Cordarrol Vallejoller didn't even have to move.
