A collision led to Munat Tayka getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Mitxel Abella hit a great ball. After some careless play in the CD Municipal defense, Mitxel Abella kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Sagrario Paniagua. The CD Municipal fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sagrario Paniagua should have stopped the shot. When Cedro Villaelrriego fell near the penalty area in the 16th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored CD Municipal's protests and gave Cedro Villaelrriego a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, CD Municipal's Cedro Villaelrriego got a free kick in the 16th minute. After having played for 17 minutes, Ruperto Abeitia managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Munat Tayka's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ruperto Abeitia was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 19 minutes into the match, CD Municipal's goal looked a bit too open when Mitxel Abella came free, but Sagrario Paniagua reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The corner ended in Rico Abad almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but CD Municipal's Sagrario Paniagua did a great save. Ermengol Cabraless short, quick shot in the 26thth minute got Firme Abaunza to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Firme Abaunza made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Palle Tazon in the 27th minute of play. Firme Abaunza made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ermengol Cabrales in the 29th minute. After the first half Munat Tayka were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Sagrario Paniagua made a fantastic save in the 85th minute, when Mitxel Abella sent off a good shot on target. Firme Abaunza showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arnulfo Camus, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Firme Abaunza prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Munat Tayka's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
