Laureano Eusko made a great header on Vampiros Aztecas's corner, it was just that Zorros del Desierto's Hugo Araya managed to reach the ball for a save. A collision led to Zorros del Desierto getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Concetto Mare hit a great ball. In the 23rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Vampiros Aztecas's goalkeeper Guaberto Weather, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 24 minutes had been played when some careless play by Vampiros Aztecas's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Javier Rufo was slow to take the kick. During this time Zorros del Desierto's players had a chance to rest. 28 minutes into the match, Silvestre Ostots had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Hugo Araya. Zorros del Desierto's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Silvestre Ostots was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. In the 32nd minute Jun Misugi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hugo Araya saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jon-Ander Wallffiguer in the 37th minute of play forced Vampiros Aztecas's goalkeeper Guaberto Weather to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Chiquito Escalante had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Guaberto Weather didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 47th minute, which inside left pole to 1-1. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The Vampiros Aztecas fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Guaberto Weather should have stopped the shot. The audience was convinced that Concetto Mare's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Guaberto Weather was relentless in the 56th minute of the game. Adriano Tripailaf hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. When Constantino Quirce came up free with the goalie in the 60th minute, the Vampiros Aztecas fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Constantino Quirce couldn't finish the play. In the 65th match minute, Vampiros Aztecas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Laureano Eusko to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Concetto Mare in the 67th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Guaberto Weather saved Vampiros Aztecas from getting behind.
