Vito Alsina blasted a shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Oso Amezaga having to make a save. Jorrin Artiz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With an all-out effort, C.A. GUAYACO's Jorrin Artiz threw himself towards the right post 39 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Mariusz Rykaczewski, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. C.A. GUAYACO's Rodrigo Caborredondo quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Pabla Goya, made in the 41st minute of the game. When Vito Alsina came up free with the goalie in the 43rd minute, the C.S.D Punta Ballena fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vito Alsina couldn't finish the play. A sloppy throw-in by Rodrigo Caborredondo in the 45th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by C.S.D Punta Ballena's Pabla Goya. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Vito Alsina made a kick off. C.A. GUAYACO's Oso Amezaga played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vito Alsina in the 54th minute of play. After a rather tough play, C.S.D Punta Ballena's Pabla Goya got a free kick in the 56th minute. Jorrin Artiz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Caicedo Berrondo in the 58th minute of play. Caicedo Berrondo struck a weak shot in the 60th minute. Jorrin Artiz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for C.A. GUAYACO. C.S.D Punta Ballena made a substitution. Celso Martel replaced Vito Alsina. If Celso Martel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 63 minutes into the match, C.A. GUAYACO's goalkeeper Oso Amezaga had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Celso Martel. After having played for 65 minutes, Caicedo Berrondo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. C.A. GUAYACO was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rodrigo Caborredondo to maneuver through the defense. Celso Martel blasted a shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Oso Amezaga having to make a save. In the 73rd minute, Mariusz Rykaczewski ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jorrin Artiz was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. C.S.D Punta Ballena's Federico Valverde was substituted for Haritz Cullar. C.A. GUAYACO made a substitution. Mendoza Joseph replaced Caicedo Berrondo. In the 78th minute, Celso Martel made a precise shot to the right of Oso Amezaga. C.A. GUAYACO's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mendoza Joseph in the 83rd minute of play forced C.S.D Punta Ballena's goalkeeper Jorrin Artiz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 88 minutes into the game, Hieronim Faron was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. C.A. GUAYACO's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave C.S.D Punta Ballena the free kick. Oso Amezaga made a fantastic save in the 96th minute, when Celso Martel sent off a good shot on target. C.A. GUAYACO were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
