In the 5th minute Claudio Scalise shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Roberto Nunes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of GuateFortín booed when Club Atlético Lea Papá was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Facundo Mallo didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 21st minute, Thierry Henry left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The GuateFortín fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. The supporters of GuateFortín booed when Club Atlético Lea Papá was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leonardo Gil didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 25th match minute, GuateFortín was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ivan Lozano to maneuver through the defense. In the 26th minute, Claudio Scalise got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. José Maria Buljubasich came out of the goal in the 28th minute to try and stop a shot by GuateFortín's Thierry Henry. But to his dismay, Thierry Henry quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Roberto Nunes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Claudio Scalise in the 32nd minute of play. The supporters of Club Atlético Lea Papá booed when GuateFortín was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Orlando Coria didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thierry Henry recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After the first half GuateFortín were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Thierry Henry was the one to do the kick off. Club Atlético Lea Papá's Carlos Quintana managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Orlando Coria in the 53 minute of the game. Washington Camacho kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. If Claudio Scalise had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Roberto Nunes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Claudio Scalise, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. José Maria Buljubasich made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Elias Pagomari in the 59th minute of play. In the 63rd minute, Thiago Almada hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. GuateFortín's Ernesto Fernandez was substituted for Thiago Almada. After a rather tough play, GuateFortín's Thiago Almada got a free kick in the 64th minute. After having played for 65 minutes, Claudio Scalise managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Club Atlético Lea Papá's supporters crossed their fingers, but Claudio Scalise was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Claudio Scalise sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 71st minute, Thierry Henry reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of José Maria Buljubasich. The goal made the score 0-3. A collision led to Club Atlético Lea Papá getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Marcelo Carracedo hit a great ball. José Maria Buljubasich made an important save on a dangerous shot by Thierry Henry in the 76th minute. The audience was convinced that Thierry Henry's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but José Maria Buljubasich was relentless in the 80th minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Elias Pagomari in the 84th minute of play forced Club Atlético Lea Papá's goalkeeper José Maria Buljubasich to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Club Atlético Lea Papá getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Leonardo Gil hit a great ball. Club Atlético Lea Papá's Leonardo Gil got his second yellow card of the match in the 89th minute. The referee ordered Leonardo Gil off the ground. Leonardo Gil hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. 96 minutes into the match, GuateFortín's goal looked a bit too open when Wilmer Melgar came free, but Roberto Nunes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The GuateFortín players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
