A sloppy throw-in by Diego Di Maria in the 12th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Navalito's Paulo José Carioca. The audience thought a goal was coming when Blanco Lambarida got free with Juan Ignacio Grove in the 15th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 17th minute, Jeremías Fazzini hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 20 minutes into the match, Inter de Guayaquil FC's goal looked a bit too open when Loreno Acharan came free, but Romo Ungo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Romo Ungo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lorencio Winter, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. A collision led to Inter de Guayaquil FC getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Marcelo Brozović hit a great ball. Toro Martínez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Juan Ignacio Grove having to interfere. Lorencio Winter scored 2-1 in the 43rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Romo Ungo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Navalito's zone, Blanco Lambarida stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Juan Ignacio Grove came out of the goal and Blanco Lambarida tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Loreno Acharan was the one to do the kick off. Jonatán Cabello fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Romo Ungo having to interfere. 58 minutes into the match, Inter de Guayaquil FC's goalkeeper Romo Ungo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jonatán Cabello. 59 minutes into the match, Inter de Guayaquil FC's goalkeeper Romo Ungo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lorencio Winter. 67 minutes into the match, Vicente Depino had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Juan Ignacio Grove. Loreno Acharan came free with the goalkeeper in the 83rd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Romo Ungo could save by the left post. In the 85th minute Navalito were awarded a corner. Rafa Mac Kenna went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Rafa Mac Kenna almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Inter de Guayaquil FC's Romo Ungo did a great save. Romo Ungo came out of the goal in the 90th minute to try and stop a shot by Navalito's Loreno Acharan. But to his dismay, Loreno Acharan quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-2. 94 minutes into the game, Virgilio Buendia cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-3. Romo Ungo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When the referee blew the final whistle, Inter de Guayaquil FC could leave the field as winners, despite Navalito having more of the ball for most of the match.
