The audience thought a goal was coming when Shane Smiley got free with Geovani de Salles in the 4th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Guilherme Veiga stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Claudio Echeverri's shot from short distance in the 8th minute. Romeo Raulo received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Geovani de Salles came out and tried to block the shot, but Romeo Raulo slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 14th minute. Claudio Echeverri recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 19th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Geovani de Salles took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Shane Smiley, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Racing Miami Futbol Club's Guilherme Veiga played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Claudio Echeverri in the 23rd minute of play. After 41 played minutes Racing Miami Futbol Club got a freekick which was hit by James Joyner. An unexpectedly hard shot by Claudio Echeverri in the 42nd minute of play forced Racing Miami Futbol Club's goalkeeper Guilherme Veiga to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Claudio Echeverri stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 54 minutes into the match, Racing Miami Futbol Club's goalkeeper Guilherme Veiga had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Claudio Echeverri. Racing Miami Futbol Club's Guilherme Veiga proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 94th minute of the match, managed to save Racing Miami Futbol Club from getting a goal against them. Emiliano Gai could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 95th minute of the match, but Guilherme Veiga made a huge save.
