Raimundo Tupper could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 5th minute of the match, but Estavan Virto made a huge save. 7 minutes into the game, Playa Malvín's Christian Bale nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ilkka Markkula made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. 12 minutes into the match, Playa Malvín's goal looked a bit too open when Raimundo Tupper came free, but Estavan Virto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Estavan Virto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Raimundo Tupper, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Podador Raheiro got free with Estavan Virto in the 16th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 28 minutes into the match, Playa Malvín's goal looked a bit too open when Yan Zhi Chuan came free, but Estavan Virto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Estavan Virto had in the 30thth minute some difficulties stopping Gilberto Sandoval's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Ilkka Markkula showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Christian Bale, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. Podador Raheiro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Xayvion Penas came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the Playa Malvín fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Xayvion Penas couldn't finish the play. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Club Deportes Santa Cruz made a substitution. Trayko Gradinarski replaced Podador Raheiro. After 54 minutes of play, Club Deportes Santa Cruz's Marcus Edström made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Estavan Virto was left in no man's land by his defense there! Estavan Virto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Yan Zhi Chuan in the 56th minute of the match. Estavan Virto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Trayko Gradinarski in the 57th minute of play. Club Deportes Santa Cruz's Ilkka Markkula proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 96th minute of the match, managed to save Club Deportes Santa Cruz from getting a goal against them.
