Rıfkı Yay started the match with the kick off. A collision led to Karadeniz Ereğli S.K. getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Cuma Gökçek hit a great ball. Kerem Ertaş made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sümer Ruşen in the 16th minute of play. In the 20th minute Sümer Ruşen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kerem Ertaş saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Karadeniz Ereğli S.K. getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Cuma Gökçek hit a great ball. Sümer Ruşen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kerem Ertaş having to interfere. 24 minutes into the match, Sümer Ruşen had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Kerem Ertaş. Karadeniz Ereğli S.K.'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Sümer Ruşen was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. 0-2 became the score in the 29th minute when Sümer Ruşen elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. In the 34th minute, Yaser Torel made a precise shot to the right of Kerem Ertaş. Karadeniz Ereğli S.K.'s defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. After a defensive mix-up in Karadeniz Ereğli S.K.'s zone, Yaser Torel stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kerem Ertaş came out of the goal and Yaser Torel tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 48 minutes, Zekai Hallaç mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the KOCAELİSPOR and the Karadeniz Ereğli S.K. players grew even worse after the yellow card. The Karadeniz Ereğli S.K. players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. KOCAELİSPOR were winning 0-3.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Sümer Ruşen to make the kick off. KOCAELİSPOR's Sümer Ruşen was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 53rd play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. After a rather tough play, Karadeniz Ereğli S.K.'s Ekrem Arslantürk got a free kick in the 57th minute. Sümer Ruşen did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 0-5 to the left of a surprised Kerem Ertaş 58 minutes into the match. In the 64th minute, Sümer Ruşen ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Kerem Ertaş was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-6. KOCAELİSPOR's Arslan Kamran was substituted for Yaser Torel. Wilfred Zaha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 74th match minute, Karadeniz Ereğli S.K. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ekrem Arslantürk to maneuver through the defense. Wilfred Zaha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kerem Ertaş having to interfere. The referee showed Ekrem Arslantürk the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Wilfred Zaha's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Kerem Ertaş firmly grabbed it by the left post. After 94 minutes of play Karadeniz Ereğli S.K.'s Ekrem Arslantürk was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. In the 95th match minute, Karadeniz Ereğli S.K. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ekrem Arslantürk to maneuver through the defense. KOCAELİSPOR's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
