Elias Söderman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gunnar Brodin in the 19th minute of the match. If Tor Josefsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 26 minutes into the match, Norrlands Athen's goal looked a bit too open when Tor Josefsson came free, but Elias Söderman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tor Josefsson in the 28th minute of play forced Norrlands Athen's goalkeeper Elias Söderman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 29 played minutes Norrlands Athen got a freekick which was hit by Felix Benett. After 31 played minutes Nykvarn got a freekick which was hit by Bengt-Rune Jakobsson. In the 32nd minute, Felix Benett ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Oliver Bergfeldt was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. A collision led to Norrlands Athen getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Karl-Magnus Fastesson hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Nykvarn's Gunnar Brodin got a free kick in the 36th minute. Osvald Ahlstedt who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 41stth minute tested the skills of Oliver Bergfeldt when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 42nd minute of the match Kåre Lennartsson sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Elias Söderman skillfully saved the ball. Norrlands Athen's Elias Söderman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tor Josefsson in the 43rd minute of play. In the 46th match minute, Norrlands Athen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Per-Oskar Alefors to maneuver through the defense. In the 47th minute of the match Pontus Tunström shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Elias Söderman showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tor Josefsson was the one to do the kick off. Tor Josefsson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Elias Söderman read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 52nd minute of play.
