Sunkens Surtröjor's Ludvig Sundin got a good chance for a goal in the 16th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 18 minutes into the game, Stadsbornas IF's Arne Rönn nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Folke Ersman made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. Jan Olenberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Martin Bolin, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. Stadsbornas IF's Jan Olenberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Martin Bolin in the 24th minute of play. The Stadsbornas IF players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Sunkens Surtröjor were winning 1-3.

The referee ignored Sunkens Surtröjor's protests and gave Martin Bolin a yellow card for diving instead. When the match was over Sunkens Surtröjor could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Stadsbornas IF throughout the match.
