Dark Prophets's Dumitru Tolea played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Liviu Soare in the 6th minute of play. Manole Ghiondea took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alin Curteanu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sebastian Andone in the 9th minute of play forced Dark Prophets's goalkeeper Dumitru Tolea to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 12 minutes into the game, Liviu Soare cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Dumitru Tolea was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Dumitru Tolea made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Basarab Zdroană in the 19th minute of play. 21 minutes into the match, Liviu Soare notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Dark Prophets's Dumitru Tolea. Dumitru Tolea was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Dumitru Tolea showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Basarab Zdroană in the 26th minute of the match. 29 minutes into the match, Dark Prophets's goal looked a bit too open when Liviu Soare came free, but Dumitru Tolea reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 38th minute Aurel Crainic shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dumitru Tolea saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ferdinand Mohora's late challenge caught a Galati Harbour Cats's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. But to his dismay, Liviu Soare quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. Dumitru Tolea didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Panait Acalinei went, in the 46th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-5 was the resulting score. After the first half Galati Harbour Cats were leading 0-5. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

After some careless play in the Dark Prophets defense, Basarab Zdroană kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dumitru Tolea. The Dark Prophets fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dumitru Tolea should have stopped the shot. 56 minutes into the game, Liviu Soare recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Dumitru Tolea. Liviu Soare showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-7. If Liviu Soare had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Dark Prophets's Alin Curteanu got a free kick in the 72nd minute. Sebastian Andone could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 77th minute of the match, but Dumitru Tolea made a huge save. Dumitru Tolea was a little too slow when Liviu Soare got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 78th minute. The score was now 0-10. Sebastian Andone received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Dumitru Tolea tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 83 minutes into the match, Dark Prophets's goalkeeper Dumitru Tolea had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sebastian Andone. An unexpectedly hard shot by Liviu Soare in the 84th minute of play forced Dark Prophets's goalkeeper Dumitru Tolea to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 85th minute, Alin Curteanu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Dark Prophets's supporters rose to their feet, but Alin Curteanu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Manole Ghiondea breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a little luck, Dark Prophets's Dumitru Tolea got control of the ball when Sebastian Andone tried to sneak it across the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sebastian Andone got free with Dumitru Tolea in the 96th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Galati Harbour Cats's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
