Spectators: 161 (Terracing: 121, Seating: 37, VIP seats: 3) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Mugur Nisipeanu kicked off to start the match. After having played for 3 minutes, Liviu Soare managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Galati Harbour Cats's supporters crossed their fingers, but Liviu Soare was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Liviu Soare sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 17th match minute, UFC STEAUA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Şamil Darcan to maneuver through the defense. Manole Anghel hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. The Galati Harbour Cats fans' excitement grew in the 33rd match minute when Galati Harbour Cats's Ion Bulencea looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 4-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 35th minute the ball was on its way in behind UFC STEAUA's goalkeeper Costică Petran, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Galati Harbour Cats's Liviu Soare got a free kick in the 40th minute. Costică Petran didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 42nd minute, which inside left pole to 5-0. Liviu Soare fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Costică Petran having to interfere. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 5-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Liviu Soare stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Costică Petran showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Basarab Zdroană, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. The audience was convinced that Liviu Soare's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Costică Petran was relentless in the 56th minute of the game. In the 58th minute, Mugur Nisipeanu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 60 minutes into the match, Liviu Soare notched a goal, 6-0, to the right of UFC STEAUA's Costică Petran. Costică Petran was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Manole Ghiondea came out of the goal in the 67th minute to try and stop a shot by UFC STEAUA's Albert Hodorog. But to his dismay, Albert Hodorog quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 6-1. The supporters of UFC STEAUA booed when Galati Harbour Cats was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Panait Acalinei didn't get a good kick on the ball. 74 minutes into the match, Galati Harbour Cats's goal looked a bit too open when Rafet Faydalı came free, but Manole Ghiondea reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Costică Petran took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Liviu Soare, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Galati Harbour Cats booed when UFC STEAUA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Şamil Darcan didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 84th minute, Liviu Soare got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 86th match minute, Galati Harbour Cats was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Basarab Zdroană to maneuver through the defense. Petrică Bostan hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. Liviu Soare scored 8-1 in the 88th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Costică Petran, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When Ion Bulencea came up free with the goalie in the 94th minute, the Galati Harbour Cats fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ion Bulencea couldn't finish the play.
