Karl-Ove Andersson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Eugen Pânzariu in the 4th minute. 6 minutes into the match, RED BLUE STAR's goal looked a bit too open when Tudor Bărbânță came free, but Nicolae Borcea reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to FC UNIREA Alba Iulia getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Alin Agud hit a great ball. 9 minutes into the match, FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's goal looked a bit too open when Eugen Pânzariu came free, but Karl-Ove Andersson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 14th minute Tudor Bărbânță shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nicolae Borcea saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nicolae Borcea made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alin Agud in the 17th minute of play. Alin Agud fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nicolae Borcea having to interfere. Eugen Pânzariu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Karl-Ove Andersson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's Karl-Ove Andersson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Victor Răcănel in the 30th minute of play. Alin Agud fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nicolae Borcea having to interfere. After a rather tough play, RED BLUE STAR's Ivan Baldovinescu got a free kick in the 34th minute. If Tudor Bărbânță had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Karl-Ove Andersson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nicodim Stancu in the 39th minute of play. Nicolae Borcea showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Emanuel Finteșteanu in the 42nd minute of the match. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Eugen Pânzariu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. RED BLUE STAR's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC UNIREA Alba Iulia the free kick. In the 62nd match minute, RED BLUE STAR was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vintilă Ilie to maneuver through the defense. Emanuel Finteșteanu in the 64thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Emanuel Finteșteanu scored 1-1 in the 73rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Nicolae Borcea, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 77 minutes, Cristian Casian mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC UNIREA Alba Iulia and the RED BLUE STAR players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's Cristian Casian got a free kick in the 77th minute. The referee gave Vintilă Ilie a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After a rather tough play, RED BLUE STAR's Vintilă Ilie got a free kick in the 84th minute. Karl-Ove Andersson stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Eugen Pânzariu's shot from short distance in the 88th minute. Karl-Ove Andersson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eugen Pânzariu in the 91st minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tudor Bărbânță in the 93rd minute of play forced RED BLUE STAR's goalkeeper Nicolae Borcea to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gigi Câmpeanu struck a weak shot in the 95th minute. Nicolae Borcea didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC UNIREA Alba Iulia. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
