Spectators: 159 (Terracing: 120, Seating: 36, VIP seats: 3) Ion Oloieru started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. In the 3rd match minute, RB Buzău was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nicolae Trifănucă to maneuver through the defense. In the 4th minute of the match Liviu Săvescu shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Gigel Lupea showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 6th minute, Ion Oloieru got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 7th match minute, RB Buzău was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nechifor Pătrașcu to maneuver through the defense. In the 8th minute of the match Liviu Săvescu sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Gigel Lupea skillfully saved the ball. The supporters of Fc S.Zaharesti booed when RB Buzău was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nechifor Pătrașcu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Constantin Aluneanu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Traian Voina, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 22nd minute, RB Buzău's Nistor Balint dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. Gigel Lupea stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ion Oloieru's shot from short distance in the 25th minute. Marin Claudiescu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 27th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Fc S.Zaharesti booed when RB Buzău was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vintilă Văduvescu didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Ion Oloieru had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, RB Buzău's Nechifor Pătrașcu got a free kick in the 39th minute. Constantin Aluneanu made a fantastic save in the 46th minute, when Nistor Balint sent off a good shot on target. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

In the 52nd minute Leontin Bungescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Constantin Aluneanu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Fc S.Zaharesti's zone, Traian Voina stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Constantin Aluneanu came out of the goal and Traian Voina tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Through an outstanding action, after 70 minutes, Gigel Lupea successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. 74 minutes into the match, RB Buzău's goal looked a bit too open when Ion Oloieru came free, but Gigel Lupea reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ion Oloieru fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gigel Lupea having to interfere. Fc S.Zaharesti's Marin Claudiescu got a good chance for a goal in the 79th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 80 played minutes RB Buzău got a freekick which was hit by Mugur Pantea. After some fancy dribbling in the 86th minute, Doru Popoiu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Fc S.Zaharesti's supporters rose to their feet, but Doru Popoiu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gigel Lupea breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to Fc S.Zaharesti getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Doru Popoiu hit a great ball. Many of Fc S.Zaharesti's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Fc S.Zaharesti may have spent more time on the ball, but RB Buzău were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
