The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 6 minutes into the game, Martin Hammeren was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Nerdvik's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Trygsland BK the free kick. After a rather tough play, Nerdvik's Martin Hammeren got a free kick in the 6th minute. In the 10th minute, Casper Størkersen got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Joar Lam scored 0-1 in the 11th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Endre Rønne, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Kristian Lerøy's late challenge caught a Trygsland BK's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Kristian Lerøy helped the player get up and apologised. In the 14th minute, Kristian Lerøy hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 18 minutes into the match, Nerdvik's goal looked a bit too open when Jonathan Vikanes came free, but Endre Rønne reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Endre Rønne showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jonathan Vikanes, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. Trygsland BK's Søren Wangen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kristian Lerøy in the 22nd minute of play. Trygsland BK's Søren Wangen proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 24th minute of the match, managed to save Trygsland BK from getting a goal against them. In the 25th minute Kristian Lerøy shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Søren Wangen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 27 minutes into the game, Trygsland BK's Jonathan Vikanes nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Endre Rønne made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. In the 30th minute David Jahnsen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Endre Rønne saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Søren Wangen made an important save on a dangerous shot by Martin Hammeren in the 33rd minute. Endre Rønne showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jonathan Vikanes, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Fridtjof Nakken got free with Søren Wangen in the 41st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A collision led to Trygsland BK getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Reidar Nordlien hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Trygsland BK's zone, Fridtjof Nakken stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Søren Wangen came out of the goal and Fridtjof Nakken tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Kristian Lerøy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The wind increased when Joar Lam made the kick off in the second half. Søren Wangen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kristian Lerøy in the 58th minute of the match. Endre Rønne made an important save on a dangerous shot by Joar Lam in the 60th minute. Endre Rønne made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jonathan Vikanes in the 62nd minute of play. 63 minutes into the game, Nerdvik's Kristian Lerøy nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Søren Wangen made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. If Fridtjof Nakken had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The referee showed Casper Størkersen the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After having played for 81 minutes, Kristian Lerøy managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Nerdvik's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kristian Lerøy was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 82nd minute, Martin Hammeren made a precise shot to the right of Søren Wangen. Trygsland BK's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kasper Larsen in the 89th minute of play forced Trygsland BK's goalkeeper Søren Wangen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Endre Rønne made an important save on a dangerous shot by Joar Lam in the 92nd minute. Endre Rønne made a fantastic save in the 95th minute, when David Jahnsen sent off a good shot on target. After some careless play in the Trygsland BK defense, Fridtjof Nakken kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Søren Wangen. The Trygsland BK fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Søren Wangen should have stopped the shot. Nerdvik's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
