But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rūtenis Bračas couldn't finish the play. Linas Mandraflis struck a weak shot in the 9th minute. Virginijus Andriuškevičius didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Pegasas Siauliai. If Narūnas Vaičius had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Arvydas Valuckis during the 25th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Arvydas Valuckis hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. If Rūtenis Bračas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Virginijus Andriuškevičius prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Rūtenis Bračas succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 2-0 in the 36th playminute. Virginijus Andriuškevičius showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Linas Mandraflis, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. 42 minutes into the match, FC Pegasas Siauliai's goal looked a bit too open when Narūnas Vaičius came free, but Arūnas Zaleckis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rūtenis Bračas's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Virginijus Andriuškevičius read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 43rd minute of play.
