Lorien Vilela stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jakov Stähr's shot from short distance in the 17th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kristoffer Aubertin in the 19th minute of play forced Sydney FC's goalkeeper Rasmus Gölz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. David Miro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers David Miro in the 23rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rasmus Gölz saved Sydney FC from getting behind. In the 32nd match minute, Injuries was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kurt Kolb to maneuver through the defense. 36 minutes into the match, Sydney FC's goal looked a bit too open when Kristoffer Aubertin came free, but Rasmus Gölz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 36th minute Kristoffer Aubertin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rasmus Gölz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. David Miro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 39th minute of the match, but Rasmus Gölz made a huge save. Alexander Arnold hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. The supporters of Injuries booed when Sydney FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marcello Karger didn't get a good kick on the ball. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when David Miro stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 53 played minutes Injuries got a freekick which was hit by Philibert Philippeau. Lorien Vilela acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 55th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Tizian Borutta. Injuries's Gustaf Birnø was substituted for David Miro. Rasmus Gölz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gustaf Birnø, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute.
