Themistoklis Charalambakis made an important save on a dangerous shot by Joaquin Phoenix in the 7th minute. Samuel Demicoli showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nikos Moustos in the 9th minute of the match. Austin Gatt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Themistoklis Charalambakis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 13th match minute, Templars FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lawrence Buontempo to maneuver through the defense. Spyros Psychountakis took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 14th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Samuel Demicoli. Templars FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 17th minute, Nikos Moustos left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Go Ahead Eagles fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. In the 23rd minute, Nikos Moustos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 29 minutes into the match, Templars FC's goal looked a bit too open when Dimitris Koukoulas came free, but Samuel Demicoli reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lawrence Gonzi hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. 31 minutes into the game, Go Ahead Eagles's Dimitris Koukoulas nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Samuel Demicoli made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Stelios Panagiotidis in the 38th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Samuel Demicoli prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 42nd minute, Joaquin Phoenix reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Themistoklis Charalambakis. The goal made the score 1-2. In the 45th minute, Nikos Moustos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Austin Gatt was the one to do the kick off. 51 minutes into the match, Go Ahead Eagles's Stelios Panagiotidis sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Samuel Demicoli narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Templars FC's Samuel Demicoli played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nikos Moustos in the 57th minute of play. Gabriel Lentini kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. Templars FC's Keith DeGaetano was substituted for Gabriel Lentini. The long shot by Miltiadis Egomitis in the 69th minute really tested Samuel Demicoli's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. After some careless play in the Go Ahead Eagles defense, Oliver Friggieri kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Themistoklis Charalambakis. The Go Ahead Eagles fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Themistoklis Charalambakis should have stopped the shot. After 80 played minutes Templars FC got a freekick which was hit by Keith DeGaetano. After having played for 81 minutes, Stelios Panagiotidis managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Go Ahead Eagles's supporters crossed their fingers, but Stelios Panagiotidis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Dimitris Koukoulas hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. In the 83rd minute Keith DeGaetano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Themistoklis Charalambakis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Samuel Demicoli showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nikos Moustos, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. 92 minutes into the game, Stamatis Lakerdas was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Go Ahead Eagles's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Templars FC the free kick. Stamatis Lakerdas hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
