The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Alex Franceschi stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Alexis Kotsanakis's shot from short distance in the 5th minute. A collision led to forsal FC getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Carmine Moretta hit a great ball. 13 minutes into the game, Alexis Kotsanakis was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Olympiacos FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave forsal FC the free kick. In the 13th minute, Alexis Kotsanakis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Alexis Kotsanakiss short, quick shot in the 16thth minute got Alex Franceschi to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 18th minute, Alfred Szpakowski made a precise shot to the right of Takis Nestoriou. Olympiacos FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. A collision led to Olympiacos FC getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Alexis Kotsanakis hit a great ball. If Soulis Partalis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Takis Nestoriou made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alfred Szpakowski in the 32nd minute of play. A collision led to Olympiacos FC getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Giorgos Soufleris hit a great ball. In the 36th minute, Cristiano Carlini got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Soulis Partalis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alex Franceschi having to interfere.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Carmine Moretta made a kick off. Thanos Panagiotatos's late challenge caught a forsal FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Thanos Panagiotatos helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Olympiacos FC's Thanos Panagiotatos got a free kick in the 54th minute. Takis Nestoriou showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alfred Szpakowski, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Alexis Kotsanakis in the 69th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Alex Franceschi saved forsal FC from getting behind. During the 74th minute of the match Thanos Panagiotatos completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Thanos Panagiotatos a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 75th minute Alfred Szpakowski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Takis Nestoriou saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Olympiacos FC were awarded a corner in the 78th minute after forsal FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Giorgos Soufleris took the corner. After some careless play in the Olympiacos FC defense, Alfred Szpakowski kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Takis Nestoriou. The Olympiacos FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Takis Nestoriou should have stopped the shot. The crowd rose to their feet as forsal FC's Alfred Szpakowski slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Takis Nestoriou. That made the score 0-3 after 84 minutes of play. Christian Calabrese hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. Markos Kareklopoulos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alex Franceschi having to interfere. Takis Nestoriou made an important save on a dangerous shot by Carmine Moretta in the 96th minute. The Olympiacos FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. forsal FC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
