Juan Sánchez recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 27th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Cláudio-André Taffarel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Juan Sánchez, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. 32 minutes into the game, Tonete Verdeja was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. F.C. Sant Sabo's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Tirant lo Blanch the free kick. After a rather tough play, F.C. Sant Sabo's Tonete Verdeja got a free kick in the 32nd minute. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Daniel Abad to make the kick off. F.C. Sant Sabo's Tonete Verdeja got his second yellow card of the match in the 55th minute. The referee ordered Tonete Verdeja off the ground. After a defensive mix-up in F.C. Sant Sabo's zone, Juan Sánchez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cláudio-André Taffarel came out of the goal and Juan Sánchez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Juan Sánchezs short, quick shot in the 62ndth minute got Cláudio-André Taffarel to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 65th minute, Tirant lo Blanch's Alain Morientes ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Cláudio-André Taffarel. Cláudio-André Taffarel yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-1. The supporters of Tirant lo Blanch booed when F.C. Sant Sabo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vitin Ziguenza didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mergildo Pascua showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Abad, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. A collision led to F.C. Sant Sabo getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Daniel Abad hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Juan Sánchez in the 79th minute of play forced F.C. Sant Sabo's goalkeeper Cláudio-André Taffarel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
