Olavo Moura showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Inácio Pádua, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. Hilário Borba made a fantastic save in the 10th minute, when Alípio Freitas sent off a good shot on target. After a defensive mix-up in Sabadim Harammes PRD's zone, Serafim Caneira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Olavo Moura came out of the goal and Serafim Caneira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gremio Viana's Armindo Marques quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Romão Soares, made in the 13th minute of the game. Olavo Moura showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Inácio Pádua in the 17th minute of the match. 19 minutes into the game, Romão Soares threw the ball into play from the sideline. Gremio Viana's José Ventura quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. If Inácio Pádua had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 28 minutes in the game Romão Soares did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Leandro Marega. Antonio Calisto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Olavo Moura tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Serafim Caneira in the 36th minute of play forced Sabadim Harammes PRD's goalkeeper Olavo Moura to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 42nd minute of the game Romão Soares made a throw-in which André Curado played forward. After 46 minutes, Antonio Calisto mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Gremio Viana and the Sabadim Harammes PRD players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 46th minute, Antonio Calisto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Olavo Moura took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Serafim Caneira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Inácio Pádua to make the kick off. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rodolfo Candeias during the 54th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 54th match minute, Sabadim Harammes PRD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rodolfo Candeias to maneuver through the defense. Inácio Pádua might have been able to make a better finish in the 55th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Olavo Moura. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Inácio Pádua ran back to his position shaking his head. Hilário Borba made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from André Curado in the 59th minute of play. Inácio Pádua in the 60thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Olavo Moura, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Gremio Viana were awarded a corner in the 62th minute after Sabadim Harammes PRD's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Salvador Resende took the corner. The corner led Gremio Viana's Salvador Resende to fire away a dangerous shot which Olavo Moura despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Gremio Viana's Luis Alberto Brandao quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Fernando Couto, made in the 65th minute of the game. Hilário Borba took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alípio Freitas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Inácio Pádua had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 73 played minutes Sabadim Harammes PRD got a freekick which was hit by Romão Soares. A collision led to Gremio Viana getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Inácio Pádua hit a great ball. Hilário Borba made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leonel Brochado in the 77th minute of play. Inácio Pádua's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 80thth minute, Olavo Moura skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Palmiro Cordeiro in the 81st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Hilário Borba prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a rather tough play, Sabadim Harammes PRD's Adélio Gameiro got a free kick in the 82nd minute. Hilário Borba showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Palmiro Cordeiro in the 85th minute of the match. A sloppy throw-in by André Curado in the 89th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Gremio Viana's José Ventura. In the 92nd minute, Inácio Pádua got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 96 minutes of play, Sabadim Harammes PRD's Palmiro Cordeiro made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Hilário Borba was left in no man's land by his defense there! Sabadim Harammes PRD's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
