Spectators: 205 (Terracing: 154, Seating: 47, VIP seats: 4) UE Cornella's Alvito Font started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 4 minutes into the match, Terceirense F.C.'s goalkeeper Robert Enke had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gitano Iniesta. UE Cornella's Fresco Baltanas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kevin Soares in the 7th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Kevin Soares in the 9th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Fresco Baltanas prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Lucas Luis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Kevin Soares's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Fresco Baltanas read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 22nd minute of play. In the 26th minute Alvito Font shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Robert Enke saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 28 minutes into the match, Terceirense F.C.'s Kevin Soares sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Fresco Baltanas narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When Leon Tobias fell near the penalty area in the 31st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored UE Cornella's protests and gave Leon Tobias a yellow card for diving instead. Leon Tobias hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. In the 36th minute the ball was on its way in behind UE Cornella's goalkeeper Fresco Baltanas, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. UE Cornella's Alvito Font got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Angelo Guerreiro kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. In the 44th minute the ball was on its way in behind UE Cornella's goalkeeper Fresco Baltanas, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kevin Soares in the 46th minute of play forced UE Cornella's goalkeeper Fresco Baltanas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Kevin Soares was the one to do the kick off. The supporters of UE Cornella booed when Terceirense F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Angelo Guerreiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fresco Baltanas came out of the goal in the 57th minute to try and stop a shot by Terceirense F.C.'s Kevin Soares. But to his dismay, Kevin Soares quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. After a defensive mix-up in UE Cornella's zone, Kevin Soares stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fresco Baltanas came out of the goal and Kevin Soares tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 65th minute Kevin Soares shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fresco Baltanas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fresco Baltanas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kevin Soares in the 68th minute of play. After 76 minutes of play, Terceirense F.C.'s Kevin Soares made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Fresco Baltanas was left in no man's land by his defense there! 84 minutes into the match, Terceirense F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Urtsua Serra came free, but Robert Enke reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Terceirense F.C. getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Angelo Guerreiro hit a great ball. The supporters of UE Cornella booed when Terceirense F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Angelo Guerreiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Mário Rijo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Terceirense F.C. supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Terceirense F.C. would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
