Anselmo Baldaia recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 12th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Adão Carvalheira's late challenge caught a Terceirense F.C.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Adão Carvalheira helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Terceirense F.C. booed when Campus Douro Academy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adão Carvalheira didn't get a good kick on the ball. Anselmo Baldaia's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Nuno Coutinho read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 25th minute of play. After some careless play in the Campus Douro Academy defense, Anselmo Baldaia kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Nuno Coutinho. The Campus Douro Academy fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Nuno Coutinho should have stopped the shot. After 37 played minutes, Terceirense F.C.'s 叶烨桑 shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Nuno Coutinho came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Terceirense F.C. reached it. Nuno Coutinho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Anselmo Baldaia in the 39th minute of the match. The Campus Douro Academy players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Terceirense F.C. were winning 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Anselmo Baldaia stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Terceirense F.C.'s Norberto Leiria got a free kick in the 56th minute. Robert Enke showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Telmo Sesimbra in the 61st minute of the match. Terceirense F.C.'s Kevin Soares was substituted for Anselmo Baldaia. With a little luck, Campus Douro Academy's Nuno Coutinho got control of the ball when Kevin Soares tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 78th minute the ball was on its way in behind Campus Douro Academy's goalkeeper Nuno Coutinho, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A collision led to Terceirense F.C. getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Carlos Ferreira hit a great ball. In the 83rd minute, Norberto Leiria hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 84 minutes into the match, Terceirense F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Manuel França came free, but Robert Enke reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With 89 minutes on the clock, Adélio Correia commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In the 89th match minute, Campus Douro Academy was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adélio Correia to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Campus Douro Academy's zone, Norberto Leiria stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nuno Coutinho came out of the goal and Norberto Leiria tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 93 played minutes Terceirense F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Lucas Luis. Carlos Ferreira could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 97th minute of the match, but Nuno Coutinho made a huge save. 99 minutes had been played when some careless play by Campus Douro Academy's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Valter Lucena was slow to take the kick. During this time Terceirense F.C.'s players had a chance to rest. The Campus Douro Academy manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Terceirense F.C. to win.
