Dave Drescher fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Péter Čech having to interfere. 28 minutes into the match, Şamaxı Bankirlər's goal looked a bit too open when Cillian Zellweger came free, but Péter Čech reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Şamaxı Bankirlər's zone, Dave Drescher stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Péter Čech came out of the goal and Dave Drescher tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Toto Caputo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Yaqub Aydinov, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Toto Caputo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Yaqub Aydinov's shot from short distance in the 46th minute. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Yaqub Aydinov to make the kick off. In the 51st minute, one of Fire Devils:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Fire Devils. Loris Hellmüller kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. In the 66thth minute of the game Yaqub Aydinov who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Fire Devils's Toto Caputo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Älibala Abayev fell near the penalty area in the 70th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Şamaxı Bankirlər's protests and gave Älibala Abayev a yellow card for diving instead. Älibala Abayev kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. Dave Drescher's late challenge caught a Şamaxı Bankirlər's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dave Drescher helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Fire Devils's Dave Drescher got a free kick in the 71st minute. Cillian Zellweger fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Péter Čech having to interfere. Dave Drescher showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. 81 minutes into the match, Loris Hellmüller notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Şamaxı Bankirlər's Péter Čech. Péter Čech was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Leander Uliassi during the 84th minute.
