Fire Devils's Toto Caputo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 27th minute of the match, managed to save Fire Devils from getting a goal against them. 29 minutes into the match, Borimir Pergelov had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Toto Caputo. Fire Devils's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Borimir Pergelov was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Borimir Pergelov to make the kick off. In the 63rd minute Dave Drescher shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ilko Kombakov saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lyubomir Baronov fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Toto Caputo having to interfere. Loris Hellmüller scored 1-1 in the 66th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ilko Kombakov, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Cillian Zellweger's late challenge caught a CSKA-LULIN's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cillian Zellweger helped the player get up and apologised. The audience was convinced that Borimir Pergelov's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Toto Caputo was relentless in the 73rd minute of the game. When Elin Kalenderov fell near the penalty area in the 76th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored CSKA-LULIN's protests and gave Elin Kalenderov a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Fire Devils booed when CSKA-LULIN was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Elin Kalenderov didn't get a good kick on the ball. Loris Hellmüller fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ilko Kombakov having to interfere. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Fire Devils players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
